Baht bus Pattaya: route, fare and the stop for Soi 6

The cheapest way to Soi 6 is the baht bus (songthaew): a pickup truck with two benches in the back that runs a fixed loop through central Pattaya. You wave it down, ride, press the buzzer and pay a few baht. Here is how it works and where to get off.

The loop: south on Beach Road, north on Second Road

The baht buses on the central loop run one way: south along Beach Road (the seafront) and north along Second Road, one block inland. Soi 6 connects the two roads in North Pattaya, so both directions pass it – the Beach Road buses at its western end, the Second Road buses at its eastern end.

How to ride

  1. Wave at a bus on the loop and climb onto the benches in the back.
  2. Press the buzzer when you want to get off.
  3. Pay the driver at the front window after you climb down – in coins or small notes.

What it costs: most guides give 10 baht per person on the Beach Road – Second Road loop and 10–20 baht in general. One guide written in 2026 reports that the base fare rose to 15 baht in April 2026; we could not confirm that, so carry a few extra coins and pay what the driver asks for a normal shared ride.

Charter: if a driver offers to take you somewhere off the route, or you get into an empty bus and name a destination, it becomes a charter – agree the price before you move. A shared ride on the loop needs no haggling.
